Keep in mind that “Minecraft” has two versions and each version has a slightly different crossplay. It is important to remember that “Minecraft can be played with any player who has the same version of the game as you. If you're looking to play with friends, here's everything you need to know about “Minecraft”.
“Minecraft: Bedrock Edition” supports cross-platform gaming across consoles, mobile devices and personal computers. Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One and Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5, iOS, iPadOS and Android devices may all support “Minecraft: Bedrock Edition”.
If you play “Minecraft: Bedrock Edition”, you can add friends to your account and play with them on any other system. Just make sure they are playing “Bedrock Edition”. Be aware that sometimes the “Bedrock Edition” subtitle is removed from marketing materials when you purchase “Minecraft” for your console. It's also known as “Minecraft on Windows 10” on PCs.
To play cross-platform, you only need to invite and add your friends. Here's how it works:
Be aware that certain environments in Bedrock cannot be played on other platforms. Each system contains exclusive content that is only available on that particular console. The “Mario Mash-Up World Template” can't be shared with friends on other platforms, such as the Nintendo Switch. This can only be shared between Switch users.
“Minecraft Java Edition” is the original “Minecraft”, and is available for Mac and Linux users. It cannot be played on consoles. Players of “Java”, the game, may play with other “Java”, gamers, regardless of whether they are using Windows, Linux, or Apple computers.
